Birthdays are meaningless!

Amanda is just a child and yet she has suffered so much. As a mother, I feel so helpless. I can't do anything to help my child. How can she even celebrate her 14th birthday? It's only 5 days away. Everything is a blur to her now!

The news from the doctor wasn't very encouraging. He said that a "rejection line" had appeared on the cornea. He is giving her more drugs and eye drops and wanted to monitor her closely.

Amanda's 3rd and 4th Uncles were very thoughtful. They bought birthday cakes for her. When they asked her to make a wish and cut the cake, she suddenly breakdown and cried. Then, she said that birthdays are meaningless!
