"Foreign Body"
Friday afternoon, 25/7/08, Amanda called me in the office. She sounded anxious and said that she needed to see Dr Seah. Immediately, I sensed that something was wrong. I recalled that in the morning she said she couldn't see her watch. I thought it was her fever affecting her vision so I told her to go back to sleep and skip school for one day.
At the clinic, we had a rude shock when the doctor said that a "foreign body" like a white speck was stucked to her eye. He had to cut away one stitch to remove it. It was causing an infection and thus affected Amanda's vision. The doctor wanted to monitor her closely and told us to come back the following day.
We were disappointed as Amanda was supposed to go for a minor surgery next Saturday to remove the stitches.
