Amanda's new purple spectacles

We are getting tired of visiting the doctors so often. Yet, we don't have a choice. Each visit is like a roller-coaster ride. Sometimes the eye pressure is normal and sometimes it's up. I can see the disappointment in Amanda's face when it's bad news. So to cheer her up I brought her to make a new pair of spectacles. It's time for a change anyway. She chose a purple coloured pair of specs. I think she looked good in it.

Exams Stress

Amanda was beginning to show signs of O Levels exam stress! A few nights ago while she was doing Maths revision, she cried as she couldn't figure out the answer to the question. Alvin and I couldn't understand why she takes it so seriously!

But this morning as I walked her to the MRT she was her chirpy self again. The results for Humanities paper were out. She was top in her class and the whole Sec 4 cohort in Humanities (Social Studies & History). Well, at least this makes up for her dissapointment of not being able to get As for English (missed by 0.3%) and Literature. But she did get an A for A Maths. To me, it was a damn good achievement for the O Levels Prelims. I really so proud of her.

Trip to JB with Phyllis & Pam

It's the girls' day out! We took a bus from Kranji MRT station into City Square Shopping Mall, Johor. We spent the day pampering ourselves with mani and pedicure. And I also coloured my hair. The services were really cheap compared to what we pay in SG!

We went window shopping and bought mostly tidbits. Pam also bought mooncakes for her MIL. We ended the day with a sumptuous dinner at a Japanese restaurant.

Overall, a satisfying day as we have achieved what we set out to do ie. to pamper ourselves.

My Birthday - Lucky number 8963 strikes!

I have had many birthday treats and presents from my family, boss, colleagues and friends. The office gals also also surprised me with a birthday cake on Tuesday, 7/9/10.

Last Saturday, 4/9/10, Phyllis and Pam bought me lunch at TCC Citylink, followed by a ride on the Singapore Flyer. It was my first time on the Singapore Flyer. The view was fantastic! And I didn't realise that Phyllis was afraid of heights! Can't wait for Pam and Phyllis to post the pics on FB.

Oh, and yesterday afternoon the family went to JB. We had bak kut teh for lunch and Japanese food for dinner. We checked out the prices of Cellcept and eye drops at "My Pharmacy". The costs of the eye drops are about the same in Singapore, but Cellcept costs half the price at S$250 a box. Doctor Lim charges us about S$500. At the next visit, if Dr Lim cannot claim medisave for me I will tell him that I will buy Cellcept from another source.

Besides, shopping and eating at City Square we also watched movies. Amanda and I watched "Going the Distance", a romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore (our favourite actress) and Justin Long. While, Matt and Alvin watched "Grown ups", a comedy. Alvin said Matt laughed so loudly in the cinema.

We also bought a few boxes of mooncakes. They are all so cheap! We have tried so many samples that we got so confused. The mooncakes all tastes the same. Ha...ha...

My birthdate number of 8963 strikes! Both Alvin and I have won 4-D starter prize on ibet! We won S$40 each, and treated ourselves to dinner at Siam Kitchen.

My presents were:
- Jewellery box from Pam and Phyllis
- Earrings from Angela
- A box of Chocolate from Anthea and Gabriella
- Bodyshop lip balm from Savoula
- Giordano tee from family
- a birthday letter from Amanda (she said I'm happier this year because I don't have to worry about my ex-boss and exams anymore!)

And lots of birthday wishes from friends and my cousin Harry.

Matt's forearm cast is taken off

Matt is very lucky. Doctor said that he is fine. X-ray has shown that the hairline fracture has healed. He doesn't need to put on the cast anymore!

Matt kept his cast as a souvenir. He took some photos of it and posted it on his FB!
