Mum's Jewellery

It's been almost 2 years since mum passed away. Mum had some gold and diamond jewellery. At that time, we all agreed that we would sell them and put the money back into father's account. Well, Margaret was assigned the task and was supposed to sell them when the price is right. Somehow, she didn't manage to sell the jewellery.

Recently, Maureen informed us that the funds in father's bank account are low and we need to do something about it. The gold price was high and it was time to sell the jewellery. So I took leave to accompany my two sisters to check out best deals at some pawnshops at Woodlands. Amanda and Shyan Ray taged along with us. We managed to pawn the jewellery at different pawnshops for a good price. It was beyond our expectations! We had an enjoyable outing too!

New Maid

Wati's 2 years contract was up. Auntie Margaret didn't like her and had complained so much to me. So it was agreed that we wouldn't renew Wati's contract when it expired on 18/6/10. As always, I had to do the "dirty job". I had to tell her the news. Thank God, she didn't object and after some persuasion happily agreed to go home. Well, she ought to be happy. I paid for the airticket and gave her extra bonus.

Few weeks ago, Maureen and I had gone to Best Helper Maid Agency at Sunplaza Shopping Centre. We had looked at all the maids' biodata and picked Nunuk. Last night after work, I went to pick up Nunuk. I bought her dinner at KFC and then we took the MRT to dad's house.

Nunuk wasn't too clever but she was honest to say that she has menstrual cramps every month. I asked Margaret to give her Panadols in advance. Can see that Margaret wasn't too happy then.

Stomach Flu

Last weekend, Amanda started vomiting and having severe diarrhoea. I was so worried that I called Dr Lim to check if it might be due to the side effects of Cellcept. He didn't think so and asked me to bring Amanda to a GP. The GP thought that she might have gotten food poisoning. Got ticked off by GP for not letting Amanda eat home cooked food! Her immunity level is low due to taking immuno suppressant drugs. In the next few days, I cooked porridge for her.

On Mon, it was Matt's turn to throw up and having severe diarrhoea. Brought Matt to see GP. It turned out that the kids had stomach flu and it was contagious! Matt was very drama. He was moaning in pain. As he appeared to be so weak, I had to put a pail at his bedside so that he could vomit into it. And I had to make him wear a panty liner so that he wouldn't dirty his underwear!!!

I was the next victim. On Wed, it was my turn. This time I went to see Dr Loo, our family GP. He gave me an injection to stop the diarrhoea and it worked. I was on 2 days mc.
