Enquiries with CPF Board on Medisave Claim

Yesterday, I called CPF Board. I asked if I could use my Medisave to pay or claim part of the costs of Cellcept (immuno suppressant drugs). To my disappointment the staff said no. However, she said I could try to appeal and asked me to write to their Healthcare Section, which I did. Let's pray and hope for the best!

Amanda's check up today

Today's check up was good. Amanda is recovering well. Thank God! We saw both Dr Seah and Dr Lim.

Dr Lim has prescribed Cellcept for Amanda starting with a low dosage. The dosage will be increased gradually. She has to take 2 tablets each day for up to 2 years. Each tablet costs $7.50; excluding Consultation fees and blood tests, etc. I have asked Dr Lim if I can claim part of the costs from Medisave. He said he's not sure but will help me check it up. I will also call CPF Board to find out more.

My Banana Cake

Alvin and Amanda could not resist my banana cake! Ha! Ha! I must say that it's very tasty when you eat it warm. Mine tastes better than Toast Box!

I think I'm better baking cakes than cooking. Since I am at home, I have been practising my culinary skills. The kids have no choice but to eat what I cook. Matt always rate my cooking but he still finished up all the food. Well, practice makes perfect!

Immuno Suppression Drug

Yesterday, we saw Dr Lim Wee Kiak at Eagle Eye Centre. He is a specialist on immuno suppression drug.

Dr Lim explained that cellcept is relatively safer compared to the other drugs. Of course, there are some side effects like low body immunity and more severe would be liver problems. Therefore, Amanda needs to be monitored closely and has to go for regular blood tests. Dr Lim is very careful and he wants Amanda to go for Hep A/B blood tests before he starts her on the drug. Amanda would be a long term medication for 2 years.

Mother's Day and Outing with Mano

On Sunday, we brought Mano out for dinner at Marche, Vivo City. After dinner we hopped over to Sentosa. We took the train from Vivo City to Sentosa.

At Sentosa, we took the sky ride while Matt ride on the luge. After that, we watched the 8.40pm "The Song of the Sea" performance by the beach. The performance was like the old musical fountain but a new and improved version. The water sprayed out onto a kampong built on the sea, and the actors and digital images played out a story line. At the end, there was a short display of fireworks. Everyone enjoyed the performance.

As we headed back to Vivo City, Mano gave us an ice-cream treat at Haagen Dazs!

Andrea Bocelli's Concert @ Botanic Gardens

Amanda was so excited about watching Andrea Bocelli live in concert. She had hoped to meet him in person to get his autograph.

Luckily, the weather was good. The Botanic Gardens was packed with people. We came prepared with floor mats and subway sandwiches. We didn't expect the organisers to provide KFC packs, ice-cream and goodie bag. So it was a pleasant surprise.

Andrea Bocelli didn't dissapoint us. At the end, he sang his top hit songs i.e "The Prayer" and "When I fell in love". It made Uncle Richard was very happy!

Sa Ding Ding Performance @ St James Power Station

I was really surprised when I read my e-mail that I had won a pair of tickets to Sa Ding Ding's performance. And guess what? She will be performing live at St James Power Station. In fact, I've heard so much about St James Power Station and I would love to go there. Well, here's my chance.

At first, Alvin wasn't sure if he wanted to go watch Sa Ding Ding. I would be very dissappointed if he didn't because I joined the contest because I knew he liked her. Eventually, we went to St James Power Station. It was a great experience. Her performance was very energetic. Her songs are like tibetian spiritual songs but with a bit of western twist. Btw, I've asked around and no one seems to know who is Sa Ding Ding!
