Mum's 1st Death Anniversary - 25/10/09

It has been a year since mum passed away, and today is her first death anniversary. It's amazing how time flies!

I had arranged with CATS to publish a tender tribute in the Sunday Times obituary on this date. I chose the verse:

Take her in thy arms, dear Lord,
And ever let her be
A messenger of love
Between our hearts and thee

Later in the afternoon, we visited mum at the Mandai columbarium.

Group Projects

I know it's not easy working in a group especially for group project. I can understand that conflicts amongst the group members would arise. But I was totally shocked by what Alexis told me about her group. Somehow, she started on the wrong foot with her group members, and in the end they all turned against her. Week after week, she told me about what has happened during their group meetings. Nothing was accomplished at all, and the deadline for the project was drawing near. I was her confidante and she kept tell me that she doesn't want to fail her project. Her group members were 'fighting' with each other through e-mails and smses. Towards the end, my name was "dragged" in to their quarrel. Why? Perhaps, someone was jealous of me?

Alexis called me a couple of times sobbing over the phone. I felt really sorry for her. She was the one who had originally come up with the idea for the POM Project. I thought the idea of tingkat food delivery was a good one. I read her draft and I thought she had written very well. It's shame! They could have used all that energy and focused it on the project instead of quarreling with each other.

As adult students, I thought people would have the maturity to handle such conflicts or situation. I guess I was wrong.
