Paralegal Course

First lesson was Criminal Law, a very interesting subject. The Lecturer is a Defence Counsel. He was so funny and made the whole class laughed with his stories and drama acting!

Lecturer told the class that he wants our commitment. Otherwise, we'll give up easily or just go through the motion without enjoying the lesson. He's absolutely right! I tell myself that I am doing this course for MYSELF! It's a good skill that will help me in my current job and my future career.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying hard that I'll make it through.

Trip to the Night Safari

We went to the Night Safari on Sat night. It had been 3 years since we visited the place. The last time, we went there was with my colleagues. It was a company outing organised by the SRC! How time flies.

The tickets to Night Safari are not cheap! I used an sms on my mobile to get a free ticket for Matt (child).

The animal show was fun to watch. I felt that this time round, Amanda could see the animals a little better.

Uncle Wan Heng & Jeremy's birthday

Both Uncle Wan Heng and Jeremy shared the same birthdate, 21/3/09. Uncle Wan Heng is 50 years old! Whilst, Jeremy, Alvin's godson is celebrating his 21st birthday!

I bought a birthday cake and a wallet (birthday present) for Uncle Wan Heng. We had lunch at MIL's house. Lunch was prepared by Auntie Jean.

Later in the night, Alvin and Matt went to Jeremy's birthday party at a chalet at the East Coast. We had passed Jeremy's birthday present to his parents on thursday. We had earlier bought a Ralph Polo T-shirt from Batam.

Weekend stay at Batam View Beach Resort - Sat, 14/3/09

Like the old saying, the pictures tell a thousand words!

The family spent the weekend at Batam View Beach Resort. As usual, it was a last minute decision. We booked the hotel just the night before, and the ferry tickets on the Saturday morning.
During the day, we went shopping at the town. At night, Alvin and I went for a relaxing spa.

11th March Matthew's Birthday

On Matt's birthday, I took half day leave to bring him out to spend time with him; mother and son bonding. We went to the games arcade which is Matt's favourite place (but not mine; it's so noisy there).

Amanda and Alvin joined us later in the evening. We watched "The Pink Panther 2" Movie. The movie was very funny, and we all enjoyed it. Afterwards, we had dinner at Jack's Place. And the birthday boy received a complimentary slice of cake!

Matt's 11th birthday celebrations

Matthew got his wish! He celebrated his 11th birthday with 7 of his closest friends today. It was quite a havoc in the house. The boys were so happy playing with one another. They were screaming and laughing, taking turns to play with the Playstation that Alvin borrowed from Bao Li. And some of the boys brought their own PSP.

Douglas and Zi Bin were the mischievous ones. They kept playing with the stationery bicycle and Alvin's exercise machine for the back.

I ordered too much pizzas. Besides pizza, the kids had KFC chicken, samosas, chicken nuggets, birthday cake and ice-cream.

When it was time to leave, the kids didn't want to go home. By 10pm, Alvin sent Matt's little friends home. Afterwards, Matt thanked me for all the efforts I put in for his birthday celebrations! I am glad that he was happy and had an enjoyable time. I took some photos and made it into a movie for him so that he can remember this day fondly. Matt was really happy with the movie. That smile on his face said it all.
